What Are Pier Gear Products Made With?

Pier Gear products are made with the finest marine canvas on the planet. We tested four different canvas materials and eliminated two after just a few weeks. Then we spent several months comparing the two finalists using a number of criteria from durability, fading factor, water resistance, and color selection.

Our final fabric selection is part of our “secret sauce” and the manufacturer offers a 10-year warranty on the fabric which protects against “decomposition and fading for regularly maintained fabrics under normal use and environmental conditions.” 

The warranty does not apply against any damage due to abuse, neglect, vandalism, burns of any kind, fires and natural disasters. Also, normal wear, weather soiling, or stains from environmental pollution or other sources are not covered.

With all of this said, it is the strongest warranty in the industry.

Our fabric offers long-term protection against mildew and provides excellent water and oil repellence.

We recommend that you take proper care of your Pier Gear products by following our guidelines on the Care Instructions tab on this site, and that you bring them inside when not in use to help preserve your investment in the Coolest Dock on the Block.
